There is nothin’ just like you

It is not the facet of the white moonlight,
But your smile that wanes out the darkness.
It is not the facet of a gentle breeze on a hot day,
But the flinging of your hairs that brings coolness.

It is not the quirk of a setting sun,
But your lips that Color the roses red.
It is not the quirk of a dense branched tree,
But your beautiful thatch hair that provides shed.

It is not the trait of a sparrow or a cuckoo,
But your cadence voice that constructed notes.
It is not the trait of the ice blanket on mountains,
But your cheeks that gives white its colour quotes.

It is not the facet of the perennial rivers and streams,
But your eyes that gives depth to the giant ocean.
It is not the facet of the fireflies in the night,
But the pleasure of seeing you that makes stars twinkle with devotion.

It is not the quirk of a pearl born in its shell,
But your eyes that gives shape to the sun.
It is not the quirk of stars reflection on the sea,
But your traits that makes the heart of the zillions run.

It is not the facet of the fragrance in a parterre,
But your blissful form that keeps everyone breathing.

Hindi:-

Chaand Ki Chandni Mein Woh baat kahan,
Yeh Toh Teri Muskan Hai Jo andhiyara mitati Hai.
Garmi me us Thandi Hawa Ke Naram jhonke Mein wo Baat Kahan,
Yeh Toh Teri zulfo ka jhatakna hai jo thandak pahuchati hai.

Doobte Suraj Ki Madhham se Lali Mein Woh Baat Kaha,
Yeh Toh Tere Honth Hain Jo Gulabo Mein Laal Rang bharte hai.
Ghane paedon ki dolti Hui Shakhaon Mein Woh Baat Kaha,
Yeh Toh Tere Ghane Baal Hai Jo chaanv dete Hain.

Papihe ki peehu aur Koyal ki kooho mai wo baat kaha,
Yeh to teri awaaz hai jisse Sur aur Taal bante hain.
Pahado par barf ki us chaadar mai wo baat kaha,
Ye to tere Gaal hai jo barf Ko gora karte hai.

Bahti hui in jheelon aur nadiyo me wo baat kaha,
Ye to teri ankhei hai jo Sagar Ko gahrai deti hai.
Raat ke andhere me chamchamte jugnuon me wo baat kaha,
Ye to tera Deedar hai jinse sitaare jagmaga uthte hai.

Seep mei janme naye Moti me wo baat kaha,
Ye to tere mast Nayan hai jo Sooraj Ko golakar dete hai.
Saagar par padte sitaaro ki chaadar ke pratibimb me wo baat kaha,
Ye to teri Ada hai jisse logo ke dilo ki dhadkane chalti hai.

Phoolu ke us baagh ki khushbu me wo baat kaha,
Ye to tera roop hai jisse saanso ki saansei bharti hai.

The poem was first written in Hindi, but I believe that the translation has came out pretty nicely. Hope you enjoy these verses!

There is nothin’ just like you is an imagination that taps into the deepest part of the heart. When we juxtopose the nature and someone we admire, even the beauty of the nature falls short. It is just a way to tell that beauty lies in the eyes of beholder! Everyone is beautiful and there is nothin’ just like you!😊

  1. I read the Hindi one first to get the feel and then the English version to drown myself in the same feeling again. 🙂 Superb use of imagery. You words melted my stoned heart. I feel love all over your words..!
kisi aur ke alfaazon mei vo baat kahan
jo tumhare lafzon ke geet mei hai ❤
    Woah..! Magnificient writing 🙂

  2. This is a beautiful tribute to the you that is in all of us. Honestly, I liked the Hindi version better, the feel is so much more tangible there. Your little note towards the end adds so much to your persona which already shines through your lines.
